A: The son must be dutiful to his mother in his deeds and sayings, but it is not obligatory on him to divorce his wife to please his mother if the reality is as mentioned in the question. This is because the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, Submission is obligatory only in what is good (and reasonable). May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
