A Muslim woman’s work

Q 5: What is the Islamic ruling on the work of my devout wife, who works a managerial work but she is committed to the Islamic clothing in her job, knowing that she works out of necessity, because my salary barely suffices us and I have bought a new house?

A: It is permissible for her to work as a teacher or in administrative work or the like as long as she is committed to the Islamic rulings in terms of her clothing that must cover her `Awrah (parts of the body that must be covered in public), not being in a state of Khulwah (being alone with a member of the opposite sex) or intermingling with non-Mahrams (not a spouse or an unmarriageable relative). May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
