A woman kissing her husband's nephews

Q 2: I saw a woman kissing her husband's nephews on both cheeks. When I asked about the reason, I was told that she does this for no other reason than showing cordial feelings to them and that she has been doing that habit since their childhood. Now they have grown to manhood. The question is: Is this act permissible? What is meant by "showing cordial feelings"?

A: A woman is neither allowed to kiss the pubescent nephews of her husband on their cheeks nor even to shake hands with them since they do not fall under the category of Mahram (spouse or permanently unmarriageable relative). Being used to do this since their childhood does not justify continuing to do it after they have reached manhood. She is also not permitted to do the same with her husband's brother. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
