A woman seeing her daughter's suitor while unveiled

366

Q: Is it permissible to see the mother of my fiancée while not wearing full Hijab (veil) before contracting of marriage? Is it permissible for my father to see my fiancée with her face exposed before contracting the marriage?

A: Firstly, it is not permissible for the mother of the fiancée to expose her face to her daughter's fiancé because she is Ajnabiyah (a woman lawful for the man to marry) before contracting the marriage. (Part No. 17; Page No. 359)  Secondly, it is not permissible for the fiancée to expose her face in the presence of her fiancé's father because he is not a Mahram (unmarriageable male relatives) of the fiancée. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
