Q: Is it permissible to say that Allah is Non-resembling to the creatures and that He is "old" (Pre-existent)?

A: All perfect Attributes are attributed to Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He), as those He has attributed to Himself and those the Messenger (peace be upon him) attributed to Him, (Part No. 2; Page No. 406) as Allah says: There is nothing like Him; and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer. He (Glorified be He) is Unique in His Self, Attributes, Names and Actions and there is nothing like Him. "Old" is not mentioned among the Names of Allah, but He is the First as He says: He is the First (nothing is before Him) and the Last (nothing is after Him), the Most High (nothing is above Him) and the Most Near (nothing is nearer than Him). And He is the All-Knower of every thing. It is also confirmed that the Prophet (peace be upon him) said, "O Allah! You are the First, as there was nothing before You, and You are the Last, as there will be nothing after You. You are the Most High, as there is nothing above You, and You are the Nearest, as there is nothing closer than You." (Related by Muslim) May Allah grant us success.
