Q 1:
Is it permissible for us to appoint a leader during the Hajj journey or not?
A:
It is prescribed for a group of three or more travelers to appoint one of them as the leader. It was reported in the Sunan (Hadith compilations classified by jurisprudential themes) of
Abu Dawud, on the authority of
Abu Sa‘id Al-Khudry (may Allah be pleased with him) that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said,
“When three persons set out on a journey, they should appoint one of them as their leader.”
In this way they will be agreed, and there will be no divided opinions nor will they fall into disputes.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
