Q 1: I am a young married woman and I want to
beautify my hair for my husband and Mahram (spouse or permanently unmarriageable relative).
Is it permissible to dye my hair or apply the cosmetics that are currently used to it? It is worth mentioning that I do not want to dye it in red. Is this Haram (prohibited)?
A:
There is nothing wrong in repairing one's hair by washing and combing it and applying substances that can enhance it. If the hair is grey or discolored, it is permissible to dye it any color other than black. If it is of normal color, is not grey, or discolored, it should not be dyed because this would be a kind of deceit and change of what Allah (Exalted be He) has created. (Part No. 17; Page No. 131) May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
