listening to audio cassettes
Haram (prohibited)?
A:
If the material which is recorded on such cassettes is something which is Haram such as dissolute songs, music, untruthful stories, seductive words etc.; listening to them will be considered Haram. However, if the material which is recorded on such cassettes is Mubah (permissible) or calling to virtue such as Qur'an, proper Islamic lectures, and political and commercial news that do not involve any cheating or Fitnahs (temptations); listening to them will be considered Halal (lawful).May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
