Q: I am an old man who has twins studying in the third grade. I would like for them to be good and go with me to the Masjid (mosque) to perform Salah (prayer) but sometimes they refuse and I supplicate to Allah for them.
What is the best way that should be followed to make them good?
I informed the school administration about this subject. May Allah save and guard you!
A:
We advise you to continue advising your children and not to despair. Use the useful ways for their education and direction; following the reward and punishment approach. Inculcate the love of Allah and His Messenger in their hearts. Keep them away from bad companions. Exhort them to accompany good people. Warn them against the corrupting mass media. Supplicate to Allah frequently to guide them; you supplication to them is a reason for which Allah praises His righteous servants. He (Glorified and Exalted be He) says,
And those who say: "Our Lord! Bestow on us from our wives and our offspring the comfort of our eyes, and make us leaders of the Muttaqûn (the pious. See V.2:2)."
May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
