What is the ruling on collecting stamps as a hobby,
knowing that some stamps carry pictures of animate beings? Is a stamp collector allowed to sell them, whether they contain pictures or not, (Part No. 26; Page No. 300) to buy Islamic books with the money?
A:
It is permissible for a Muslim to collect or sell stamps on condition that they do not contain pictures of animate beings. Otherwise, it is not.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
