Q 1:
Some benefactors donate a roll of cloth as Waqf (endowment) for making shrouds.
If a person dies and his family does not have a shroud at that time, they may take what they need from this roll and make a shroud for their deceased as a loan. Later on, they should return an equal part to the one they took. What is the ruling on this action?
A:
The Committee sees no harm in this action and this kind of Waqf is included in the meaning of Waqf and its rulings. This Waqf resembles assigning a sum of money; gold, silver or something similar, to lend the needy then having it returned. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
