Is it permissible to
delay weaning a baby after the two years prescribed in the Qur'an?
A:
This is permissible if there is a need for delay. Also, it is permissible to wean a baby before they complete two years of age if this is for their benefit. However, the basic rule is that a baby is breast-fed for two years and this should not be changed unless there is an urgent need requiring this change.May Allah grant us success.
