Q 1: Is it permissible
to eat the meat of birds that do not have claws (Part No. 22; Page No. 295) yet feed on carrion and the like?
A:
It is unlawful to eat birds that do not have claws yet feed on carrion. This is according to the authentic Hadith reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him):
Five animals are harmful and should be killed inside and outside the Haram (Sacred Mosque) ...
He mentioned the crow among them which feeds on carrion, and the same ruling is applied to similar birds.
