eating cats
Haram (prohibited) or Makruh (disliked)?
A:
It is prohibited to eat cats, for they are of the fanged animals.
It was related by Abu Dawud
on the authority of
Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) that
"The Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) forbade (the eating) of all fanged beasts of prey, and all the birds having talons."
May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
