A:
The menstrual period does not end until
the sign of Tuhr (purity from menses signaled by white discharge or complete cessation of bleeding) is discerned. So, if a woman sees the sign of Tuhr, which is complete cessation of bleeding without any Sufrah (yellow vaginal discharge during or after menstruation) or (Part No. 4; Page No. 217) Kudrah (dusky-colored vaginal discharge during or after menstruation) or the emission of white vaginal discharge, she has to perform after-menstruation Ghusl (full ritual bath) and start to offer Salah (Prayer), and her husband can have sexual intercourse with her. Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) says:
...therefore keep away from women during menses and go not unto them till they are purified (from menses and have taken a bath). And when they have purified themselves, then go in unto them as Allâh has ordained for you (go in unto them in any manner as long as it is in their vagina).
Moreover,
`Aishah (may Allah be pleased with her) said: "Do not hasten until you see the white Qassah (i.e. White discharge or the piece of cotton coming out white)." By that she meant complete purity from menses, which is indicated by not seeing any traces of blood, even if there is no emission of the white discharge.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
