Q 2: A Muslim
was entrusted with a sum of money to deliver to someone else. Instead, he spent it and did not deliver it. The one who entrusted him with the money died. What should this Muslim do?
A:
The money should be delivered to the specified person, as it is a trust. Allah (Exalted be He) says,
Verily, Allâh commands that you should render back the trusts to those to whom they are due
He (Exalted be He) also says,
O you who believe! Betray not Allâh and His Messenger, nor betray knowingly your Amânât (things entrusted to you, and all the duties which Allâh has ordained for you).
Allah knows best. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
