Giving another Zakah instead of the stolen one

Q 4: We had an accident in which I lost a briefcase in the Nile. This briefcase contained a sum of money intended to be paid as Zakah in Egypt, should I pay Zakah instead of what I lost?


A: You should pay the Zakah to the poor instead of the Zakah you lost in the river because it did not reach those who deserve it.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
