Paying more than the amount due of Zakat-ul-Fitr

A: The amount to be paid as Zakatul-Fitr is a Sa` of wheat, dates, rice or any other local staple foodstuff per person, male or female, young or old. However, such a practice of your paying more than the limited amount due of Zakatul-Fitr as a charity is unobjectionable (Part No. 9; Page No. 371) even if you do not tell the poor about it.May Allah grant us success. May blessings and peace be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and Companions.
