Q 3:
Is there a Sahih (authentic) Hadith with regards to choosing good maternal uncles for our future children when the person is planning for marriage?
It should be noted that I am about to marry, Allah Willing. I hope to receive some advice from your Eminence about marriage.
A:
Yes, there are Sahih Hadiths reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) in which he encouraged us to marry a religious woman who is loving and prolific. This indicates the importance of choosing a good wife that will result in marital benefits, (Part No. 18; Page No. 46) and lead to the righteousness and piety of the offspring. Allah (Exalted be He) says:
Therefore the righteous women are devoutly obedient (to Allâh and to their husbands), and guard in the husband’s absence what Allâh orders them to guard (e.g. their chastity, their husband’s property).
May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
