Q 2:
Sometimes, I am busy at work and I want to listen to the Qur'an (Part No. 3; Page No. 87) instead of
listening to songs. Is it permissible for me to listen to the Qur'an while working, although I will not be attentively listening to it? Or should I only listen to it when I have time dedicated to listening to the Ayahs (Qur'anic verses)?
A:
Allah (Glorified be He) has ordered Muslims to listen attentively to the Qur'an, when it is recited, saying:
So, when the Qur’ân is recited, listen to it, and be silent that you may receive mercy.
Thus, Muslims are required to listen to the Qur'an attentively and contemplate its meanings as much as they can to attain abundant good.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
