Q: A ministry has concluded a contract with a fuel distributor for an agreed-upon price. However, the distributor wants to pay less value for fuel, since he has no fuel stations in
Makkah
and
Al-Ta'if
and he has made a contract with filling station owners for an equivalent price.
A:
It is not permissible for you to
receive the value of fuel from the distributor, and the latter should carry out his commitment according to the prerequisites of the contract, because this commitment takes the ruling of a Salam sale (sale with advance payment). May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
