The basic rule is that contraception or birth control is not permissible unless a woman may be harmed if she gets pregnant. In this case, it is permissible to prevent pregnancy. As for the view of jurists: "It is permissible
to get rid of the sperm before the forty", it means: It is permissible to take anything that helps in getting rid of the sperm from the uterus during the first forty days of pregnancy. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
