Giving a car owner the money and swearing it will not be returned but the man returning part of it

362

A: If you swore not to take something from someone, and then you did, you have to offer Kaffarah (expiation) for breaking the oath, by feeding or clothing ten poor people, or emancipating a believing slave. If you are unable to do that, you should observe Sawm (Fasting) for three days, because it was an oath which you intentionally made for something in the future. Allah (Exalted be He) says: Allâh will not punish you for what is unintentional in your oaths, but He will punish you for your deliberate oaths; for its expiation feed ten Masâkîn (poor persons) May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
