What is the ruling on a Muslim woman going to a Christian obstetrician even though there is a Muslim obstetrician?
A:
The basic rule is that the Muslim woman should go to a Muslim female obstetrician if there is one. If there is no Muslim female obstetrician, she can go to a Christian female obstetrician. If it is difficult to find a female obstetrician, she can go to a Muslim male obstetrician accompanied by her guardian. If there is no Muslim male obstetrician or if it is difficult to find one, she is permitted to go to a Christian male obstetrician. (Part No. 17; Page No. 261) May Allah grant us success.
