A:
The Prophet (peace be upon him) taught his Ummah (nation based on one creed) what to say upon having intercourse with one's wife. On the authority of
Ibn `Abbas (may Allah be pleased with them both) who narrated that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
"If any one of you on having sexual relations with his wife says, 'In the Name of Allah. O Allah! Save us from Satan and save what You bestow upon us (i.e. the coming offspring) from Satan,' and it is destined that they should have a child, Satan will never be able to harm that offspring."
(Agreed upon by Al-Bukhari and Muslim)
Thus, Muslims should only abide by this Du`a' (supplication) as reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him). Accordingly,
listening to the recitation of the Qur'an on the radio during the process of intercourse, for the purpose of driving Satan away from the house, is not permissible. The Qur'an is sanctified and it is not allowed to listen to it while making love with one's wife. (Part No. 19; Page No. 358) And Allah knows best. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
