Q 3: What is the ruling on
having openings at the bottom of women's clothing,
whether at the front or back, from which part of the leg may be seen?
A:
It is not permissible for a woman to make openings at the bottom of her clothing, where her whole leg or part of it may appear, because the entire body of a woman is considered `Awrah (private parts that must be covered in public). Allah (Exalted be He) enjoins, saying:
...and not to reveal their adornment except to their husbands
Allah (Glorified be He) forbade women from showing any of their adornment, except to their Mahrams (spouse or unmarriageable male relatives). May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
