A: It is obligatory on this son to make Tawbah (repentance to Allah) and seek His Forgiveness for his neglect of his father’s rights on him that led to his displeasure with him. He should ask forgiveness often for his father, make Du‘a’ (supplication) for him, and give Sadaqah (voluntary charity) on his behalf. If he performs Hajj or ‘Umrah (lesser pilgrimage) for his father, this will be good. (Part No. 25; Page No. 172) May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
