A:
Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He) has explained the categories to whom Zakah should be given in the following Ayah (Qur'anic verse):
As-Sadaqât (here it means Zakât) are only for the Fuqarâ’ (poor), and the Masâkin (needy) and those employed to collect (the funds)
If your salary or income is not sufficient to meet your basic needs and that of your family, then there is nothing to prohibit you from taking as much Zakah as will suffice you.If your cousin gives you some of his money or as Sadaqah (voluntary charity), there is nothing to prohibit you from taking it to spend on extras.May Allah grant us success.
