Invalidation of Wudu' prohibits a Qur'an reciter from continuing recitation

A: Passing wind invalidates Wudu' (ablution) according to the Ijma` (consensus of scholars). Thus, if you pass wind while reciting the Qur'an, your Wudu' is nullified (Part No. 3; Page No. 73) and you are no longer in a state of Taharah (ritual purification). Consequently, you are not permitted to continue holding the Mus-haf; instead you should put it in a pure place. It is not lawful for you to touch it until you are in a state of complete Taharah from major and minor ritual impurity. This is because Allah (Exalted be He) states: Which (that Book with Allâh) none can touch but the purified. Also, it was authentically reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that he said: None should touch the Qur'an except one who is Tahir (ritually pure). You are permitted to recite the Qur'an by heart without touching the Mus-haf if you are not Junub (in a state of post-sexual ritual impurity). This is because it was authentically reported from the Prophet (peace be upon him) that: Nothing prevented him (peace be upon him) from reciting the Qur'an, except Janabah (major ritual impurity related to sexual discharge).
