Is Istijmar also valid for women?

Q 1: The Messenger (peace be upon him) commanded us to observe cleanliness and cleanse our private parts after urinating, saying: Avoid getting soiled with urine... This is general for men and women.Your Eminence, the Grand Mufty of KSA, we are commanded to use three stones to cleanse the back passage only. Is there a Hadith for cleansing the front passage too? I have another question for truly Allah (Exalted be He) is not shy to explain the truth: If men use stones to clean the front or back passage, what should women use when they find no water to cleanse their private parts? (Part No. 4; Page No. 36

A: Istijmar (cleansing the private parts with a hard material after urination or defecation) using stones and other things of the same nature, except bones and dung, is a substitute for Istinja' (cleansing the private parts with water after urination or defecation) for cleaning the front and back passages (urethra and anus). Men and women are equal in this regard. It is obligatory to use three purifying stones for each passage. If this is not sufficient to clean the area, a person should use more stones until the area is clean. It is better to use an odd number of pieces. If the area is purified with four pieces, one may use a fifth one; and if the area is purified with six pieces, one may use a seventh one because the Prophet (peace be upon him) said: Whoever wants to use stones in purification, he should use an odd number. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
