The reward referred to is mentioned in the Hadith on the authority of
`Abdullah ibn Mas`ud (may (Part No. 3; Page No. 88) Allah be pleased with him) in which the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said:
Anyone who recites a letter from the Book of Allah will receive a Hasanah (rewardable good deed), and the Hasanah is multiplied by ten. I do not say that 'Alif Lam Mim' is a letter, but 'Alif' is a letter, 'Lam' is a letter, and 'Mim' is a letter.
