Mocking bearded Muslims

497

A: Scorning the beard is an act greatly disapproved of by Islamic law. If the person who says, “O bearded” intends to scorn the Sunnah, it is considered Kufr (disbelief). If he says it just to specify the person he is calling, it is not considered Kufr (disbelief). (Part No. 2; Page No. 43) However, he should not use these words to refer to him, because Allah (Exalted be He) says: Say: "Was it at Allâh (عز وجل), and His Ayât (proofs, evidence, verses, lessons, signs, revelations) and His Messenger (صلى الله عليه وسلم) that you were mocking?" Make no excuse; you disbelieved after you had believed. May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
