How does Islam advise a person to behave towards other family members?

A: Parents should advise their children and bring them up according to the Islamic etiquette. The children should listen to their parent's advice, obey them in Ma`ruf (that which is judged as good, beneficial, or fitting by Islamic law and Muslims of sound intellect), be kind to them and abide by the Islamic code of conduct. The young should respect and esteem the old and the old should have mercy on the young.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
