It is not permissible for you
to pay Zakat-ul-Fitr on behalf of a Kafir, for there is an absence of Islam which is the principal condition for the validity of his action. Zakat-ul-Fitr is a financial act of `Ibadah (worship). This kind of `Ibadah cannot be done on behalf of others except after having their permission if they are Mukallafs (persons meeting the conditions to be held legally accountable for their actions) and a Kafir's intention is not valid. Moreover, if it is not valid due to his Kufr (disbelief), it is not permissible to act on his behalf.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
