Q 1: I am a married person and have children. I live with my father in his home; is it permissible
for my father to pay Zakat-ul-Fitr (obligatory charity paid before the Festival of Breaking the Fast) on behalf of me and my children?
A:
If your father pays Zakat-ul-Fitr on behalf of you, your children and wife, there is nothing wrong with this and it will suffice you for the obligation of paying Zakat-ul-Fitr. However, if you pay it from your money on behalf of yourself and your dependants, this is better because it is you who should do so.May Allah grant us success.
