The mother takes precedence over the father in terms of the child's showing kindness to both. The Prophet (peace be upon him) was once asked,
Who among the people is most deserving of my good company?” He said, “Your mother.” He asked, “Then who?” He said, “Your mother.” He asked, “Then who?” He said, “Your mother. He (again) said, "Then who?" Thereupon he said, "Then it is your father."
(Agreed upon by Al-Bukhari and Muslim). By repeating the same answer three times the Prophet (peace be upon him) stressed that the mother should be on top rather than any other relatives. (Part No. 25; Page No. 211) Regarding your Hajj on behalf of your father first, it is valid as long as its conditions were met and impediments were absent.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and Companions!
