Q: Is it permissible to migrate to a non-Muslim country for work? Is it permissible to adopt an un-Islamic nationality?

A: If you are seeking work and earning livelihood, you have to travel to Muslim countries and dispense yourself from traveling to non-Muslim countries, the livelihood which constitutes a potential threat to your `Aqidah (creed) and a diversion from the proper Islamic codes of ethics. It is prohibited for the Muslim to adopt a non-Muslim nationality as this entails showing willing submission to Kafirs (disbelievers) as well as abiding by their rulings.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
