Q 6:
Is it permissible for women to recite the Noble Qur’an audibly, as men do in the Fajr (Dawn), Maghrib (Sunset) and ‘Isha’ (Night) Prayers?
Is there a different ruling for them according to which women should offer Sirri Salah (Prayer with subvocal recitation)?
A:
A woman at home alone, or with her Mahrams (spouse or unmarriageable relatives), or with other women is permitted to recite audibly. The same applies if she is acting as the Imam (congregational prayer leader) of a group of women praying in her house in seclusion. However, if she offers Salah while there are Ajanib (men other than a husband or permanently unmarriageable male relatives), who might hear her voice, it is best not to recite out loud.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
