It is not permissible for a Muslim to recite Al-Fatihah forty times to have some needs fulfilled. This is one of the newly-invented Bid`ahs (innovations in religion). It is not correct that the need of a Muslim who reads it will be fulfilled; rather, it is part of the promotion of this Bid`ah and a confusion for the common people.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and Companions.
