Reciting the Qur'an in a language other than Arabic

Q 6: A friend told me that anyone who reads the translated meanings of the Qur'an in English will (Part No. 3; Page No. 121) have no reward, is this true?

A: The Qur'an can only be recited in Arabic, the language in which it was revealed, because it is miraculous and no other language can provide the equivalent vocabulary. There is nothing wrong with translating the meanings of its words to those who need it and the translation shall take the same ruling as Tafsir (exegesis of the meanings of the Qur'an).May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
