A:
Ruqyah should be recited directly over the patient, not through a microphone or a telephone. This contradicts what was done by the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him), his Sahabah (Companions, may Allah be pleased with them) and their Tabi`un (Followers, the generation after the Companions of the Prophet). The Prophet (peace be upon him) said,
Anyone who introduces anything into this matter of ours (Islam) that is not a part of it will have it rejected.
