Selling or purchasing films containing pictures of creatures that have souls

A: It is impermissible to sell or to purchase films containing pictures of creatures that have souls, as there is a lot of Shar`y (Islamic legal) texts that prohibits making, selling and supporting pictures. They become more prohibited if they lead to spreading Zina and sins, arousing interest in them by revealing the `Awrah (parts of the body that must be covered in public), kissing, Tabarruj (woman's public display of her charms or adornment) and unveiling the face, mixing between the two sexes, or sodomy. This is so whether these films are (Part No. 11; Page No. 62) directed to children or adults. The one who spreads them betrays Allah (Exalted be He), His Messenger (peace be upon him) and Al-Mu’minin (believers). He is included in what Allah (Exalted be He) says: Verily, those who like that (the crime of) illegal sexual intercourse should be propagated among those who believe, they will have a painful torment in this world and in the Hereafter. May Allah save us from the causes for His Wrath and Punishment.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and Companions.
