Q 1:
I own a certain amount of gold only for personal use, not for trade. Should I pay Zakah (obligatory charity) for them?
If so, please take into consideration that I am in a dire need of it as I am so poor that I cannot pay Zakah and thus default on Zakah one year after the passage of Hawl (one lunar year calculated from the time a property reaches the minimum amount upon which Zakah is due). What should I do, Your Eminence Shaykh? Can the Zakah be waived?
