Q 16:
Is there any due Zakah (obligatory charity) on stocks and shares?
How should it be paid?
A:
Zakah is due on stocks and shares if they represent money or commercial commodities, provided that the one who is keeping the money is not going through financial hardship and is not procrastinating in paying. (Part No. 9; Page No. 355) May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings of Allah be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family and Companions!
