Slaughtering a sick animal that will not be eaten

Q 1: If a sick animal is slaughtered no one will eat it. (Part No. 22; Page No. 484)  Should I slaughter it and then throw it away, or let it die without slaughtering it?


A 1: If the case is as you have mentioned, it is obligatory for you to slaughter the beast so as not to waste money; you should not let it die for this would be a waste of money. You can distribute its meat to whoever would like to eat it, otherwise, you can feed it to animals like dogs and cats.May Allah grant us success.
