Q 3: Is it permissible for us to
slaughter cows
in
India,
although we may be beaten, robbed and killed if we do so?
A:
If slaughtering cows or selling their meat in that country exposes a Muslim to danger and severe punishment, it is not permissible to slaughter them or sell their meat (Part No. 22; Page No. 386) in this case to avoid harm. Allah (Exalted be He) says:
...and do not throw yourselves into destruction
May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
