Tayammum for a Junub who wakes up to find no water

387

Q 2: If a person finds in the morning that he is Junub (in a state of post-sexual ritual impurity) and there is no water to offer the Fajr (Dawn) Prayer. Is it permissible for him to perform Tayammum (dry ablution with clean earth) or just wipe himself with a cloth?

A: If a Junub person is in a place where there is no water, and he cannot get water from any other place, he can perform Tayammum and offer Salah (Prayer), because Allah (Exalted be He) says: ...and you find no water, then perform Tayammum with clean earth and rub therewith your faces and hands. However, if he is in a populated area and can look for water and get it, he has to perform Ghusl (full ritual bath). Tayammum in this case is not sufficient.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
