Q:
My profession is making cushions stuffed with wood shavings. When I sell them I tell the buyer that they are stuffed with wood shavings. Is this permissible for me?
A:
Since you tell the buyer that they are stuffed with wood shavings, provided that wood shavings are of a distinguished quality that (Part No. 13; Page No. 204) the buyer will be as if seeing it when told about it and that you tell anyone wanting to buy them about it, you are not sinful. In fact, you will fall under the general purport of the Hadith that reads,
Muslims are on (i.e. stick to) their conditions.
