Q 2: There is a Hadith which mentions that a maternal aunt is like a mother,
does the “aunt” referred to in the Hadith stand for the mother’s sister or the father’s wife? Will her Du‘a’ (supplication) be answered like a mother?
A:
The “aunt” referred to in the Hadith is the mother’s sister not the stepmother, and the matter of whether their Du‘a’ or those of others will be accepted is up to Allah (Glorified and Exalted be He). May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
