Q 3:
When we receive our monthly salary, we deposit it in the bank, and of it we eat, drink, and pay rent. A certain amount may remain after spending, should Zakah (obligatory charity) be paid if this money reaches the Nisab (the minimum amount on which Zakah is due) and a whole Hijri year passes?
A:
If the state is so and the amount of money remains for one lunar year and reaches the Nisab whether by itself or added to another sum of money owned by the said person, then Zakah is due on that sum at the rate of 2.5%.May Allah grant us success. May peace and blessings be upon our Prophet Muhammad, his family, and Companions.
